Whether you’ve had Punk in Drublic stuck in your head in one form or another since first exposure (like I have), or have ceaselessly jammed “Franco Un-American” (also me), there’s a tour coming you won’t want to miss. A punk rock-centric bill featuring four hugely seminal bands, AND a craft beer fest? This is something that doesn’t come our way every year, and in fact is making only one of five total stops at our very own Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater.

Masterminded by NOFX front man Fat Mike and named after the band’s classic 1994 album Punk in Drublic (remarkably the band’s fifth album), the tour packs a huge punk-rock punch into a single day’s worth of music and brew. According to the tour’s website, “This Punk in Drublic festival date will feature up to four hours of craft beer tastings featuring over 100 craft beers, including some of California’s best and local favorites. Craft beer tastings are included with admission. Festival hours will be noon to 9 p.m. Complimentary tastings last until 4 p.m.”

There couldn’t be a more perfect name for this tour. Punk in Drublic was one of the very first punk rock albums that truly captivated me. I had friends who would blast The Unseen, Global Threat, and other super aggressive punk at all times, which I always enjoyed, but this was something different, something special. Punk in Drublic manages to wear many hats over its brief 35 minute run time: funny, melodic, poignant, and packing more than a few anthemic tunes, it really is a masterpiece, and a wonderful snapshot of what has and continues to endear the band to fans old and new. This show is bound to be one of the most enjoyable of the season, and will likely be talked about for a long time to come.

The show is all ages, with alcohol offerings for those 21 and up.
