Many places are housting events for the week, which runs through Saturday, September 16. One of the most interesting displays is inside and surrounding Potter’s Tea House at 917 N. Main Street. Jeff Jentzsch of Art Roamers expalined, “We are sponsored by Potter’s Tea House and we’re here all week, helping to promote art. These are metal sculptures made from 55 gallon drums from an artist in Kenya. We also promote other artists as well, so this is a mobile art gallery. We set up in different locations and promote artists. We’ll be here all week, til Saturday”.

Both inside Potter’s and outside, they really catch the eye and pique the interest. These are a delight for adults and kids alike. Sage Potter, of Potter’s Tea House, said, “For Meridian Art Week, Art Roamers contacted us about their ‘animals’ and needed a place to put them and after talking a look at them, we said ‘that would be great!’. We have the space and thought it would be a good fit so we’re happy to have them.

The city of Meridian is hosting the Meridian Art Week. The Downtown business groups are joining in by helping to promote with different events all week”.

Meridian’s Art Commission wesbite has all the info about the different events for the week. This is really a great time to do a Downtown walk, go for some fun events (and even some create-your-own art events) and see what art in Meridian has to offer.
