Army of One Blu-RayArmy of One,” starring Nicolas Cage and Russell Brand, tells the “mostly true” story of Gary Faulkner, a man who made eleven solo attempts to capture Osama bin Laden. Directed by Larry Charles (“Borat,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Seinfeld”), the comedy was inspired by a GQ article in 2010, which opens with the amazing line: “Equipped with little more than a sword he’d bought on a home-shopping network, a pair of night-vision goggles, and the blessing of a vengeful Christian God, the 50-year-old ex-con (and his failing kidneys) traveled to the most volatile region of Pakistan to capture Osama bin Laden.”

I was hoping Russell Brand would be playing Faulkner, but it’s actually Nicolas Cage who portrays the deranged fellow, while Brand plays God in his visions. Either way, this sounds very entertaining. The movie also stars Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rainn Wilson and Paul Scheer, and is available on DVD/Blu-Ray and VOD, from Anchor Bay Entertainment.
