Bonnie Peacher, (BOSCO past vice president and events coordinator) said “BOSCO is excited to have 38 local artists currently represented in this summer’s Local Art exhibition at The Riverside Hotel, and so pleased to provide our members with an opportunity for a new kind of exposure.  We have enjoyed our collaborations with The Riverside over the past year, and appreciate their continual support of local artists and musicians.”

The Riverside Hotel is certainly into supporting events like this. “We are so proud to offer an additional venue for the Treasure Valley’s exceptional artists to be seen by local visitors and travelers, alike.  Our hotel guests from across the country recognize the unlimited talent in our community, and have purchased many pieces on display.” – Lynda Johnson, Principal Partner – Riverside Hospitality, LLC

They also added, “The hotel’s current exhibition (running July through September) features 38 artists from Boise Open Studios (BOSCO) – the largest collection featured to date”.

The location for this event is wonderful. Movie Nights are a great way to enjoy great, fun movies in a dinner theater environment. The Sapphire Room is one of the jewels of the music scene in the Treasure Valley, with shows featuring blues to jazz, classic rock to country, R&B and the Great American Songbook. Music from the 50’s and opera can even be found at the Sapphire Room. The Sapphire Room is host to many events by the Boise Blues Society and is the venue for a wonderful charity event every year, Toys for Tots featuring Gerry and the Dreambenders.

This night, however is given over to artists and provides a unique chance to not only see many local artists and their works but interact with them on a personal basis. The BOSCO First Friday Artist Meet and Greet will be held this Friday, August 2, from 6-9:00 pm. If you enjoy art and supporting local artists, this is the event to see!
