Filmfort MicrodoseMicrodose at The FlicksIf you love independent films and are looking for film festival fun year round, MICRODOSE at The Flicks in downtown Boise may be just the thing. Billed as “short bursts of cinema that will take your brain to another plane,” this quarterly screening series offers off-season film festival fun to fans of Treefort Music Fest’s Filmfort.

Thanks to Filmfort Director, Chelsea Smith and a grant from the Boise City Department of Arts and History, MICRODOSE brings “cutting-edge documentaries, mind-bending narratives, and other cross-genre films” to Boise-area indie film lovers.

Mark your calendars for the first Thursdays of May, August, and November. First Thursdays will be very special for film buffs with the MICDODOSE series.

Greener Grass at MicrodoseFirst up on the 2022 schedule, is ‘Greener Grass,’ summarized as “a 2019 American surreal dark comedy film, written and directed by Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe in their feature directorial debuts. The film follows soccer moms Jill and Lisa who compete for approval and acceptance in a bizarre suburbia while their kids battle it out on the playing field.”

The film screens at 7:00 p.m. on May 5th, and viewers are invited to stick around for the Virtual Q+A. Producer Natalize Metzger, actor Neil Casey, and possibly a couple others will be present for the Q+A. The directors, unfortunately, will be in Mexico City. But should still be a great discussion!
