Julia Davis Park comes alive with soulful sounds, diverse food, and a vibrant celebration of Boise’s rich culture.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Boise Soul Food Festival returned in grand fashion on August 10, 2024, transforming Julia Davis Park into a bustling hub of culture, cuisine, and celebration. This year\u2019s festival was a vibrant reflection of Boise\u2019s diversity, drawing crowds from across the region to enjoy a day of soulful entertainment, delicious food, and community spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 11 AM to 8 PM, the festival featured an impressive lineup of performers that kept the energy high throughout the day. The Share Your Talent Stage<\/strong> and the Gene Harris Band Shell<\/strong> hosted a variety of artists, each bringing their unique sound to the event. Attendees were treated to performances by Rap America Project<\/strong>, Gabriel Matheney<\/strong>, Band Man Isi<\/strong>, The Real James Dixon<\/strong>, Shawn Tuck<\/strong>, LC TwoHunnaa<\/strong>, and more. The musical genres ranged from rap and Afro Beats to soul, R&B, and inspirational music, providing something for every taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over at the Gene Harris Band Shell<\/strong>, the crowd enjoyed performances by Ryan Gage<\/strong>, the Idaho BCA Gospel Workshop Choir<\/strong>, Angela Via<\/strong>, Mungo Ligoya<\/strong>, and the Orale Band<\/a><\/strong>, among others. Food was, of course, a central attraction at the festival. A mouth-watering selection of vendors offered an array of delectable dishes that showcased both traditional soul food and international flavors. Festival-goers savored the offerings from Auntie June\u2019s JamRock Cuisine<\/strong>, Big Beantz Taco Co.<\/strong>, Chop Shop BBQ<\/strong>, Georgie Bea\u2019s<\/strong>, Meltz Extreme Grilled Cheese<\/strong>, Oh Vegan Soul<\/strong>, Ya Mon Jamaican Jerk Grill<\/strong>, and many more. Whether it was the smoky goodness of Big K BBQ<\/strong>, the Caribbean delights from Taste of Caribbean<\/strong>, or the refreshing treats from Stella\u2019s Ice Cream<\/strong> and Sunset Soft Serve<\/strong>, there was something to satisfy every palate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival also featured the much-loved Rib Eating Contest<\/strong>, which drew a crowd eager to watch contestants take on plates of succulent ribs in a battle of appetite and endurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
